Despite being an essential part of every girls' beauty regime it is easy to forget the ghd is still a pretty young brand, only being launched in 2001.   With that in mind, we thought it was quite interesting to read an interview recently with the man who created the iconic brand.

 

Former hairdresser, Robert Powls, first brought GHD hair straighteners to the UK and was the person who guided the brand through its early stages.  In this frank interview he explains how he got it all started and talks about how he feels that he has been airbrushed out of the history of the brand (although the reported £15m he received for selling his shares might have been suitable comfort to many people!)
