New safety features include sleep mode and shiver mode. Sleep mode is activated when the irons haven’t been used for 30 minutes; your ghd hair straighteners will turns themselves off to reduce the risk of fire (or at least a mad dash home during your lunchbreak “just in case”).
Shiver mode occurs when the room temperature falls to below 5ºC. A “warbling” noise will be emitted, and the ghd styler will not turn on. This is so that it is protected from being used in cold temperatures where condensation can form within the ghd styler which can be damaging the irons.
