Ive had/used alot of straightners and its safe to say i find the nicky clarke desired straighteners alot better than ghds! People buy GHDs because of there name but i bought some myself and found out that after jst a short while of using them my hair was wrecked and dry, i have real hair extensions and GHDs battered them but the Nicky Clarke ones keep them smooth :) I really recomend them! I bought them half price for £45 in the Argos sale but id of happily paid £90 :D

I have always been a big fan of GHD's. I did'nt get on too well with my first set (Babyliss), they didn't really get very hot. Everyone raved about GHD's so I got some. I loved them but they recently stopped working after about 4/5 years of daily use. I was reluctant to pull out £90.00+ for another pair so I decided, after a lot of thought and a little bit of research, that straigheners MUST have improved since my first pair. So took the chance and bought the Nicky Clarke desiRED straightener on special offer at Argos for £43 (normally £86) and they are brilliant! Even better than my GHD's. They get VERY hot, they have a cut out feature if left on and you can choose different heat settings (I find my fringe looks better if straightened on a cooler setting). Oh, and they look good too.

Hi there,

The independent tests were carried out by Cambridge Market Research. Prior to revealing price and brand, there was no significant nor directional preference for either straightener.

A full copy of the test results is available on request.

All the best,

Victoria Jones
(on behalf of the Nicky Clarke desiRED range)
